The City of Richmond is committed to Vision Zero, a multidisciplinary strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for everyone.
According to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), a road diet, or roadway reconfiguration, enhances safety, calms traffic, improves mobility and access for all road users, and boosts overall quality of life.
We invite you to complete a survey that features four projects aimed at improving safety through roadway reconfiguration:
A. Reconfiguration and Bike Lanes on Franklin Street
B. Reconfiguration and Bike Lanes on Hopkins Road
C. Reconfiguration and Bike Lanes on W Leigh Street
D. Reconfiguration on Hull Street

The City’s transportation engineering resources are primarily focused on the High Injury Network, which is made up of the 9% of our streets that experience 77% of the severe injuries and fatalities.
We invite you to complete a survey that features five projects to improve safety on the High Injury Network:
- Reconfiguration and Bike Lanes on Franklin Street
- Reconfiguration and Bike Lanes on Hopkins Road
- Curb Extensions on Main Street & Cary Street
- Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements on Forest Hill Avenue
- Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon on Hull Street at 29th Street
